SATURDAYS, Indonesia’s leading D2C (direct-to- consumer) eyewear brand, released today its Android and iOS mobile applications, unveiling the first of its kind innovative online-to-offline shopping experience in Indonesia.
SATURDAYS is a lifestyle brand that offers premium quality, yet affordable, eyewear designed in-house to fit and look great on Asian consumers. Its products are crafted with only premium materials such as Italian acetate and ultra-lightweight Japanese titanium. Founded in 2016 by entrepreneurs Rama Suparta and Andrew Kandolha, SATURDAYS aims to disrupt the conventional eyewear industry and bring fresh, convenient omnichannel experiences through its app, home try-on service and lifestyle stores.
“Authentic brands create a lasting impression. Our customers trust us to define their personal style and provide vision for them to shape the world. We aspire to be the one and only eyewear brand they ever want,” says SATURDAYS co-founder Andrew Kandolha.
The newly launched mobile application showcases SATURDAYS’ full collection of designer quality eyewear, in which customers can shop, save frames to Wishlist, purchase online and pick up at store and checkout with multiple payment options, including buy now pay later.
One of the remarkable features of the app is the seamless booking experience for the Home Try-On service that SATURDAYS pioneered across Indonesia. SATURDAYS’ breakthrough service brings licensed opticians, vision tests, and frames to the comfort of one’s home. Through the app, customers are able to book a Home Try-On date, pick 10 frames of their choice to try and choose an appointment address, plus select a specialty coffee, all for free!
SATURDAYS is also expanding its physical footprint, featuring lifestyle stores blending eyewear in a modern cafe that serves specialty Arabica coffee and fresh baked artisan cookies. The brand currently operates eight stores in the Greater Jakarta Area and plans to expand to more Indonesian cities in the coming years.
With its innovation in product development and shopping experience, SATURDAYS has evolved into one of Indonesia’s leading lifestyle companies. The Company is inspired by US-based unicorn Warby Parker and aims to disrupt the conventional eyewear industry by crafting authentic, lifestyle eyewear that is affordable and convenient. SATURDAYS cuts out the expensive middlemen to offer designer quality eyewear at a fraction of the price that customers are proud to wear.
In 2020, the company received early-stage funding from local and regional venture capital firms Alpha JWC Ventures, Kinesys Group, and Alto Partners to accelerate expansion and strengthen its tech-enabled omnichannel experience.
“We aim to inspire confidence in our customers by creating authentic, lifestyle eyewear that’s affordable and convenient. However, we don’t want to stop at providing top quality products alone, we also want to provide an unmatched experience for customers, who have been accustomed to shopping for eyewear in dull, conventional manners” says Rama Suparta, SATURDAYS co-founder. “We will keep innovating our products and services to become the dominant market leader in Indonesia.”
